The City of San Jose and County of Santa Clara Join the world in recognizing WORLD AIDS DAY December 1st.
In recognition of world AIDS DAY, The Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display at City Hall in the Rotunda. A candle light vigil along with a short program with community members and leaders from HIV/AIDS Service agencies in Santa Clara County will start at 6:00 pm. The City of San Jose , City Hall Rotunda and Tower will be illuminated in red in recognition of World AIDS Day that evening.
Led by the Getting to Zero HIV initiative and its community partners this event along with other events leading up to World AIDS day aims at remembering those we lost and to raise further awareness about HIV/AIDS and help fight HIV/AIDS stigma.
HIV affects specific populations disproportionately across Santa Clara County. Certain individuals--inlcluding gay and bisexual
men, Black women and men, Latinos and Latinas, people who inject drugs, transgender women, and young people - are at greater risk for HIV. However the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommend everyone ages 15-65 get tested for HIV at least once.
Can't volunteer? You can still participate by attending!

Mission Statement
Our Mission: To build health equity in the Silicon Valley.
Description
Our Vision:
The Health Trust believes every Silicon Valley resident should have the opportunity to live a healthy life.
How:
We at The Health Trust believe that if Silicon Valley is a community where innovation is changing the world, then it also can be a community where innovation changes the lives of everyone - especially our most vulnerable residents - for the better.
As we strive to make our vision reality, we reflect the values of Silicon Valley. When we tackle a problem, we take the broad view. We rely on expertise, partnerships and best practices to generate solutions that will have the greatest impact on those we serve. We invest in projects that are sustainable, show measurable results and provide the greatest return on investment for the community.
With a strong emphasis on prevention, we focus our work through three initiatives: Healthy Living, Healthy Aging and Healthy Communities. Through direct services, we are helping one person at a time. And through policy advocacy and grantmaking, we are changing the local environment to promote healthy eating, healthy aging and healthy living.
