Volunteer Tuesdays at Food Pharmacy

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

TUESDAYS from 2:00-5:00pm - Distribute food, assist with cooking demos, and discuss nutrition at our community Food Pharmacy program!

Marin City is a food desert: there is no grocery store in our community, and the closest supermarkets are costly Mollie Stone in Sausalito or Good Earth in Mill Valley. Largely because of poor access to healthy food, 75% of Marin City residents are overweight or obese, and are at an increased risk for developing heart disease.

Volunteers can help distribute food, provide nutrition counseling, and teach cooking classes. This partnership with the SF Marin Food Bank provides patients with healthy fresh and dried goods, and education on how to manage heart disease.

All volunteers welcome! See more volunteer opportunities at www.marincityclinic.org/volunteer.
