Overview: Join Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte's Board
Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte is seeking individuals passionate about community revitalization and the importance of safe and healthy housing to join our Board of Directors. We are a growing organization with the potential to make a much deeper, lasting impact for low-income communities in Charlotte. Currently as a 100% volunteer organization, we need additional board members to help us strengthen our organization to better meet the enormous need in Charlotte. This is an opportunity to work alongside local leaders in business, government, and the non-profit sector to use your time and talents for good.
Title: Member, Board of Directors
Term: Two Years (option for re-election for two additional terms)
Responsibilities
- Attend at least 75% of monthly meetings held on the second Monday of each month
- Serve on at least one of the following committees: Project Committee, Community & Volunteer Relations Committee, Marketing & Development Committee
- Attend all special activities of the Board, including fundraising events and strategic retreats as planned
- Assist in the recruitment of volunteers and committee members to augment the Board
- Contribute to the fundraising projects and events through personal contributions and/or by generating support from friends and other contacts
- Function as a goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for Rebuilding Together and its programs

Description
Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte (RTGC)’s mission is repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives. We mobilize community volunteers and contractors to provide repairs that make homes safer and healthier for our neighbors in need. We also actively partner with other local organizations to connect the communities we serve with additional resources to meet their needs and help them create healthier, more vibrant neighborhoods. Our vision is safe homes and communities for everyone.
Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte’s model prioritizes critical repairs that correct twenty-five scientifically proven health and safety hazards that are common in older homes, including falls, fires, moisture and mold, asthma and allergies and toxic exposures such as carbon monoxide. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, we have unmatched cost effectiveness in making our community’s housing safer and healthier.
