We are looking for volunteers to help set up and keep this event running smoothly throughout the day! Sample tasks include: serving food, setting up tables & chairs, hanging up signs/posters, decorating, greeting guests as they arrive, etc. It's ok if you can't commit to the whole time period, we have many shifts available!

Cable Car Caroling has been part of the fabric of San Francisco for over 30 years. Each year, roughly 500 carolers ride the cable cars to carol at 60+ senior homes and assisted living facilities. Seniors benefit from the joy and holiday cheer brought by the carolers, and participants benefit from the connection they create with our community’s most vulnerable population. All funds raised for this event benefit IOA’s Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention programs. Services include individual and group counseling and the Friendship Line, the nation’s only accredited 24-hour toll-free hotline providing information, referrals, reassurance, and crisis intervention for older and disabled adults.

Please note: volunteering does not get you tickets to the event. We will need your help while people are out caroling. Thank you!
