Help Fight Hunger! Distribute food to those in need in your community.

Second Harvest Food Bank of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties has over 100 sites where it directly distributes groceries and fresh produce to those in need in the community. Volunteers are needed to assist with the food distribution.

Food distribution is a hands-on volunteer activity. Activities could include assisting with room set up, unloading and moving food from pallets to the distribution center; sorting and distributing food; and clean up. This is a great chance for volunteers to interface with our clients. This volunteer activity does require some heavy lifting (a minimum of 25lbs.) and regular movement.

The volunteer must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, maintain strict confidentiality of all member and volunteer information.

Brown Bag sites are located from Daly city to Santa Clara. Please specify which community you live in or would like to serve. This will help us to provide you with accurate information regarding a site closest to you.
