We need an organized, personable volunteer to assist with our Angel Tree Help Desk!
This person will serve as receptionist and initial point of contact to all callers including the public, clients and other Salvation Army personnel contacting the Angel Tree Help Desk. Ideally, this volunteer will serve 2-3 days per week for a 3 hour shift (9am-noon or 1pm-4pm), but we will work with your availability!
This position is based at the following location:
The Salvation Army Division Headquarters
5040 N. Pulaski Rd.
Chicago, IL 60630
Tasks include:
1. Switchboard operation including greeting callers and referring calls to appropriate staff.
2. Ensure outgoing voicemail messages provide accurate and up to date information.
3. Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, copying, and filing.
4. Assist in seasonal/special events programming as needed including sorting and packing Christmas toys and seasonal items for distribution and assisting in creating mailing including printing addresses, folding letters, stuffing envelopes, etc
