Ohio History Day is a year-long research program for students in grades 4 - 12. Students who choose to showcase their work, compete at the school, regional and state level with an opportunity to advance to nationals. We are looking for volunteers for Regionals on March 10 and State on April 21. Please see the different volunteer roles below.
Exhibit Hall Monitor- The exhibit hall monitor, keeps the exhibit hall free and clear of parents, teachers and any students who are not in the process of being judged. You will need to feel comfortable responding to anxious parents and students, and to think on your feet when there are complications regarding judge times and set-up.
Building Monitor- Building monitors are responsible for helping judges and participants find their way around the building. Hang out in a visible area and make sure to walk around the building a few times to check on the judges. Report any technical issues to the IT person on duty.
Registration- Students have already registered for the contest so the purpose of the registration table to is to double check that students have the correct information (building, room and time). Sometimes this information changes last minute so it will be up to the registration table to communicate any changes. Once the majority of the students have registered, the registration table transitions to general information for the remainder of the day.
Judge Room Coordinators- Judge Room Coordinators are responsible for supporting the judge experience. They will help with keeping judges on track, reporting results, organizing evaluations, and cleaning the judge room.
Clean-Up Crew- To clean-up all the leftover debris from the event and to make sure we collect all the items we use on an annual basis. Volunteers will help pack the van.
