Hemingway's birth home
Hemingway was born in this Queen Anne Victorian home on July 21, 1899.

We invite you to join our team of volunteers. You'll be glad you did.

Ernest Hemingway is a legendary writer -- one who continues to live on because of the indelible mark he made on the literary world. At his birth home in Oak Park, we welcome people from all over the world who want to learn about his birth (it's a boy!) and early years growing up in Oak Park. Our talented volunteers provide visitors with a 45-minute tour that leaves them feeling good about the time they spent with us. The birth home is a Queen Anne Victorian which the Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park restored.

We need volunteers to serve as greeters and/or docents. We encourage you to join us in preserving Hemingway's legacy as well as his love of reading and writing.

If interested, please write to plyons@ehfop.org
