Plaque Presentation to Hotel GM
Volunteer presenting plaque to the General Manager of a trained hotel

The Ambassador to Hotels builds and maintains a long-term relationship with the hotel manager or designated hotel employee. This person
a. Attends a 3 hour train-the-trainer session
b. Makes phone call to hotel manager to set up a time to visit regarding the training of employees
c. Is part of the two-person team to visit with the manager to:
Learn about efforts already being made to address human trafficking in the facility
Share the goals and vision of the Hotel/Motel Project
Share the benefits of providing training for all employees
Obtain potential dates for trainers to do the training
-can provide several training sessions to accommodate all staff
-can do training during the day and/or evenings
-can provide Spanish translation when needed
Inquire if hotel has computer and projector to do the training
Share information regarding the visit with the Hotel-Motel Coordinator
d. Attend the training given by the designated Trainer
-Distribute flyers to all employees at the training and leave additional ones for the management to place in the employee break room
-Assist the trainer with pre-arranged duties, e.g. set up, assessment assistance
-Complete the paperwork for training and return to hotel/motel training coordinator
e. Make a follow-up call within a week to the manager to thank him/her for the opportunity to train employees and for their commitment to eliminate human trafficking in their facility.
f. Make a follow-up visit or phone call every 3-6 months to:
-Affirm the efforts of the manager
-Determine if additional training is needed for new employees
-Ask if they have any questions and/or need any further information
-Ask the manager to complete the follow-up assessment to collect data on reported incidents.

Description

The Coalition on Human Trafficking works to educate and raise public awareness with one unified voice based in research and data in the hospitality and transportation industries and among the general public. We accomplish this by training volunteers and providing them with resources to train targeted audiences. The Coalition also supports the community and service providers as a facilitator for collaboration engaging the community in anti-trafficking work and supporting service providers.
