Celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by spending a day of service fighting to keep our water clean!
Join Potomac Conservancy at Jones Point Park on January 13th for a day of preventing litter from entering the Potomac so the nation's river can remain beautiful, drinkable, and fishable!
What you need:
- Close-toed shoes
- A warm coat
- A smile!
What we provide:
Everything else!
All tools, drinking water, and supplies will be provided by Potomac Conservancy. Be sure to bring a reusable mug! Because you took a stand for clean water in the chilly weather, we will also provide some warm drinks for all of our volunteers!

Potomac Conservancy safeguards the lands and waters of the Potomac River and its tributaries, and connects people to this national treasure
Description
Potomac Conservancy is a member-supported nonprofit that works to ensure the Potomac River boasts clean water, healthy lands, and vibrant communities. The Conservancy fights for improved water quality through conservation and advocacy, and empowers local landowners, volunteers, activists, members, and partners to lead the charge for clean streams and safe drinking water access.
Potomac Conservancy works one-on-one with private landowners to protect forested and open space lands; builds a vibrant and diverse river constituency to advocate for passage of river-friendly policies; and mobilizes thousands of volunteers in hands-on pollution cleanup efforts to raise awareness, inspire action and make a difference in our community.
