In preparation for taking our resource catalog nationwide, we’re now looking for a committed User Acquisition Manager associate to help us improve our user acquisition strategy. As AsylumConnect’s User Acquisition Manager, you will work to ensure our two primary user groups (LGBTQ asylum seekers and related service providers in the U.S.) are aware of our lifesaving informational resource. What form(s) of advertising most effectively reach LGBTQ asylum seekers in the U.S.? What marketing methods help to drive immigration attorneys, local nonprofits and other related service providers to our resource catalog? How can we improve our SEO and Google AdWords presence? These are sample questions you will be tasked with addressing. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role on our marketing team, and help maximize AsylumConnect’s user base.
Sample Responsibilities:
- Report (and work closely with) the Director of Marketing & Publicity
- Create and implement new user acquisition strategies to help ensure our two target user groups (LGBTQ asylum seekers and relevant providers in the U.S.) are aware of our resource catalog
- Apply marketing knowledge and frameworks to lead our effort to research and implement new strategies designed to help grow our user base. This may include:
- Investigating marketing opportunities at U.S. points of entry
- Coordinating with our partnerships team, to reach out to related websites to secure online link referrals to our catalog site
- Revamping our Google AdWords presence (see below)
- Identifying additional ways to improve our SEO
- Researching additional print/online advertisers in major U.S. cities and coordinating with our team to place local ads (e.g. ads encouraging related service providers to use our catalog directly to gather free, timely and high-quality resource referrals for their LGBTQ asylum seeker clients); work with our creative team on design of ads
- Monitor AsylumConnect’s Google AdWords account (e.g. overseeing budgeting, adding/editing keywords + locations, serving as the primary point person for any free Google AdWords consultations offered by Google, etc.)
- Interest/background in one or more of the following area(s): user acquisition strategy, marketing, advertising, research, communications, analytics
- Self-starter who is results-driven, focused and analytical
- Strong relationship and influencing skills
- Ability to multi-task
- *Bonus : Previous experience in user acquisition strategy, Google AdWords and/or SEO; previous experience/knowledge of LGBTQ asylum seekers in the U.S. or related service providers
