About
There is a high risk of substance abuse, depression, homelessness, and incarceration in children that have aged out of the foster care system. All teenagers need a consistent adult in their life to make sure they have the support and resources they’ll need when they step out into the world on their own. Teenagers in foster care need the same support and more. They need an advocate.
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is an everyday citizen appointed by a judge to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes. No prior experience is necessary. We provide all the training you’ll need, along with a team to support you on your case. Your role will be to gather information from reports, social workers, doctors, family members and other professionals in the child's life. With the information you collect, you’ll represent the child’s best interest in court. A child with a CASA is more likely to receive targeted services and spend less time in out of home care.
