Anixter Center is proud to have a Energy Force Ambassador!
The program is the country's first energy-efficiency education program designed for and taught by people with disabilities. Anixter has selected an individual to participate as an Ambassador in this year-long program and we are looking for a volunteer interested in supporting them as a job coach. The kick-off is in January, where you and the Ambassador will attend a brunch hosted by ComEd. ComEd will train you and the Ambassador; Anixter Center is available for support throughout the year through the Volunteer Manager.
Each month you and the Ambassador will attend an event to promote energy efficient programs as well as education and technology in the community. The Ambassador will learn invaluable job place skills that include public speaking, calendar organization, event planning, and education.
Are you interested in the environment? Are you looking for a way to give back to your community through mentoring and technology education? Do you have previous experience being a mentor or job coach? Anixter is excited to participate in new community-based programming for people looking for long-term volunteer opportunities. Our volunteer job coach from last year reports it being a very special and unique volunteer experience! Partner with Anixter and ComEd to give our Ambassador an experience they will never forget!
