Future City Iowa

Future City starts every year with an important challenge topic-how can we make the world a better place? To answer it, middle school students imagine, research, design, and build, cities of the future that showcase their solutions to worldwide sustainability issues. The 2017-2018 theme is An Age-Friendly City. These students will be designing two engineering platforms for their city that allows an increasing elderly population to be as independent as they want. The winner of the Future City Iowa Regional Competition receives an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete at the National Competition.
