The SoulDeevas are looking for experienced coaches to join our coaching team and help us develop our performing arts company in New York City. Following are the positions we are recruiting for:
- Hip-Hop Majorette Dance Coach - Grades 4 to 8
- Hip-Hop Majorette Dance Coach - Grades 9 to 12
- Modern/Liturgical Dance Instructor - Grades 6 to 12
- Step Team Coach - Grades 4 to 8
- Step Team Coach - Grades 9 to 12
For the rest of 2017, we will be developing the program for our teams- so there will be one or two conference calls a month to throw out ideas. We will also work to plan community workshops for kids in New York City to expose girls to majorette dance and to recruit for our teams.
Our desire is to have official auditions for our teams in early 2018 to give parents a chance to recover from the holidays. Coaches would be then be responsible for helping with recruitment, managing auditions and coaching their teams - preparing them for performances and competitions.
Practice locations - as of today - would be in Manhattan (14th Street area). We are looking to fill slots on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons and Saturday evenings. We may also consider after-school hours. Volunteers who serve faithfully for six months will be eligible for a stipend.
We have a great vision for the young ladies who will become part of the SoulDeevas which includes local and national exposure. We are looking for coaches who can be dedicated to their teams and who can help us put the SoulDeevas on the map.

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
