Grants and HUD Contracts Volunteer:

Our office is seeking an experienced individual to aid with coordinated submission of proposals, reservations, and required reports on all CHDO, HOME, CDBG, SHOP and other HUD funded building grants, as well as other donor grant requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review related grant and real estate contracts and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Assist with coordinating development of required policies and procedures
  • Maintain grant and contracts database.
  • Support community revitalization and development efforts as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of experience and education in business administration, accounting or related field
  • Knowledge of HUD and CDBG grant administration
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Volunteer a minimum of 12 hours a week

We need help submitting reimbursement claims, progress reports, and close-out reports. Volunteer the hours you want, our normal office hours are M - F from 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Habitat for Humanity South Hampton Roads utilizes the power of volunteers to build affordable homes in our community and provide support in our ReStores. We serve all seven geographical entities that comprise South Hampton Roads: Chesapeake, Isle of Wight, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Smithfield, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. Together with the help of volunteers, we have built over 200 homes throughout the area.
