Mission Statement

Beat 4 Beat's mission is to provide music education and life skills to at risk students in Austin area schools. BtG aspires to give kids opportunities to learn from music industry professionals, while letting the students interests guide the curriculum.

Description

Beyond the Grade is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

BtG currently has a staff of 17 teachers serving AISD, DVISD and RRISD schools, as well as private schools and shelters in the area.

We have 3 primary offers for music instrument programming.

Program 1. Early childhood music education class.

Program 2. Group music classes. Classes taught are Guitar, Drums, and Keyboard. These classes can be taught to kids from 2 nd grade and up.

Program 3. Pop/Rock Band class. This class can be taught to kids in 4 th grade and up.

Our curriculum is guided and designed around the student’s interests to keep them engaged in the classroom.

Our teachers are Austin musicians. Our philosophy is that students will learn practical music skills and lessons that are relative to a career field. This also allows Austin musicians to earn an income outside of their performance career.
