The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum seeks a landscaping volunteer to help maintain select planting areas and turf at the MCHS campus in Union, Illinois.
The time requirement is as-needed, mainly during the spring through fall months. The volunteer should be able to apply lawn treatments (fertilizer, crabgrass preventer, seed, etc.) and prune bushes/shrubs. Training will be made available if it is needed. The landscaping volunteer will work in cooperation with staff and other landscape volunteers.

Description
Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
