Do you enjoy working with seniors? We are searching for a volunteer to help serve lunch to members who attend our Adult Day Center. Our warm and welcoming center offers seniors, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia, the opportunity to enjoy companionship and activities outside the family home in a supervised setting, while providing their caregivers with a much needed break from daily caregiving stress and responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting the Lunchtime Coordinator (Lunch Lady)
- Setting tables, buttering bread, portioning out salad course
- Once members are seated (only staff assists members with hands-on care), serving begins in stages. Volunteers will be trained and guided. Remove finished course and serve next course, table by table.
- Cleaning off table tops and sweeping after meal.
- Requires the ability to stand and walk for minimum 1-1/2 hours.
