ORGANIZATION: Minnesota Hospice

Minnesota Hospice is seeking Compassionate Pet Therapy Volunteers for our Hospice program. Compassionate Pet Therapy Volunteers will visit with hospice patients in their home as a friendly visitor. During your visit you and your pet will be a comforting presence by offering pet companionship and conversation. Animals must be certified through an established pet therapy program, and up to date on all certifications and vaccinations. Pet handlers must be able to offer conversation when needed, and be an active listener.

At Minnesota Hospice, we take great pride in our Volunteers. When you volunteer with us, you are a party of our family. We offer comprehensive orientation and training, along with FREE continuing education opportunities. The Volunteer Coordinator will complete your first visit with you, something we call an "Introductory Visit". This allows a smooth transition for both the patient and Volunteer.

We offer our services in many different areas and will match you with patients in your desired service area. Service area includes the following counties: Dakota, Scott, Rice and Le Sueur.

Minnesota Hospice was founded by a group of Minnesota Physicians dedicated to improving the model of hospice care in Minnesota. Minnesota Hospice is not a national corporate hospice company. Rather, it was born out of the necessity to create a new model of end-of-life care that embraces the hospice care team as well as our patients and their families.

At Minnesota Hospice we are a culture of love, compassion, and hope that equates to the highest quality of patient care and service to our community caregivers. It is the vision of Minnesota Hospice to be known as The Gold Standard in end-of-life care for our patients, families and for other hospices in Minnesota.
