About

Join Up2Us Sports and serve your community as an Americorps Coach. We will train and connect you with a local partner organization to help them improve their youth sports programs and to give kids the tools they need to succeed.

Coaches serve as AmeriCorps members for the duration of their service term, which is either 900 hours, not to exceed a full year. We currently have positions in Sacramento and the SF Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills, knowledge, and techniques through sport, using lessons learned at Up2Us Sports’ best in class training events
  • Perform data collection activities as directed by your Up2Us Coach Program Manager
  • Act as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the community and youth served
  • Completion of monthly reflection logs
  • Attend/participate in Up2Us Coach monthly trainings, meetings, and special initiatives

Eligibility Requirements

  • Veteran of any branch of US Armed Forces
  • Pass all necessary Federal and State background checks
  • Must have, or be working toward, a High School diploma, GED or it’s equivalent
  • Ability to commit to required hours of Up2Us Coach Operation Coach service

Compensation/ Benefits

  • AmeriCorps Living Allowance (900 Hours = $300-400/bi weekly)
