About RIPON COMMUNITY GARDEN

Location:

1179 Vera Avenue, RIPON, CA 95366, US

Mission Statement

To give the people who live and work in Ripon, California access to garden beds to raise fresh produce for their families.

Description

The Ripon Community Garden is a non-profit organization located in Ripon, California.

The raised garden boxes at the community garden are available to be rented out to members of the community. A box is $50 per year and includes drip watering. We are currently expanding to add more boxes.

The Ripon Community Garden has several opportunities available for volunteers. Each position requires a few hours per month. Currently we are seeking a volunteer coordinator, event coordinator, project manager to work with the garden president, and a grant writer. Message the page for more information!

12 of our boxes are used to raise produce to donate to the Ripon Senior Center. Since January, we've donated almost 1,000 pounds of produce!

In addition to the garden boxes, we have fruit trees, grapes, and artichokes. This year we have added bees! They are already happily starting to produce honey.

We host also a free children's program, Oak Valley Youth Garden. Oak Valley Youth Garden meets weekly in the summer and twice a month during the school year. Children and their caregivers are invited to come help tend to our garden beds, participate in crafts, and learn about the outdoors!

The garden is open every day for any member of the community to come and enjoy. Take a walk through the garden (please no picking of produce as it belongs to others), read under our pergola, or have lunch on our picnic tables.
