We are looking for volunteers to provide support to our Winter Straw Program. Volunteers in this role should be 'Winter Warriors' prepared to take on cold weather to pass out straw to pet owners who will keep their dogs healthy, happy, and most importantly warm throughout the cold months.
This program is ONLY available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm.
Volunteers helping with this program should be able to lift 50 pounds ( straw bales are heavy!) and at least 18 years old. You may be asked to help hand out food for our Pet Pantry program, but your primary role will be handing out straw.
Volunteers are asked to wear gloves, hats, thick boots, and anything else you may need to keep warm while outdoors - we will rotate inside and out for breaks, but the majority of your shift will be spent outside - get ready to experience that Michigan weather first hand!
Small groups are welcome!
