About

Greetings from Kids Saving the Rainforest! We are a Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Center located in Costa Rica. We save over 200 animals a year, and we need your help!

We recently launched a new program called Sponsor a Sloth, and we are looking for remote volunteers with social media and fundraising experience to help us get this new program off the ground. Volunteers with contacts in schools and the educational community are a big bonus! You can read more about Sponsor a Sloth at http://sponsorasloth.wordpress.com

Essentially, the program works like this: For a minimum donation of at least $35, we send the sponsor a plush sloth, a photo & story of a real sloth we have saved, a certificate, and fun facts about sloths. The vision for this project is that it grows and becomes implemented in schools and other settings where children can get involved and really help make a difference. It is a fundraiser for our organization, but it is also a way for us to achieve our mission of inspiring children that they, too, can help save the rainforest.

We need volunteers to help us promote the program on social media, via email, and also on the ground recruiting. Individuals are great to recruit, but the primary vision for the program is to involve schools around the world and get fundraisers started in these locations. It would be great if the volunteers could also pitch in and provide support for the schools they get involved with. We have plans to expand the program in the future to include different levels of sponsorships, and also other species of animals that we save.

With the holiday season approaching, this is the perfect time to get the word out on our Sponsor A Sloth program, and we need your help!! Please contact Kerri, the founder/director of the program, at volunteer@kstr.org. Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing from you!
