This after-school program assists children, age 5-12, who struggle with English, to learn to speak and read the language more fluently. The program is presented through self-paced computer instruction in a computer lab. The aide does not need to be proficient with computers but is there to answer questions and help the children understand the information being presented.
These ESL Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, from 3:30-3:50 pm. Aides may volunteer one or more days per week.
Davis Co. Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is for people age 55 or better. Benefits of volunteering through RSVP include mileage reimbursement for travel between home and the volunteer site while serving, as well as supplemental insurance coverage while serving. Volunteers will receive training/orientation.

Mission Statement
Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
