Sign up to be a Lighthouse Elf and help us create memories and magic for youth and families in need this holiday season! You'll assist in organizing, sorting, and passing out gifts for around 1000 youth. Please use this sign-up genius to sign up for volunteer slots ( Happy Holidays: Happy Holidays Helper (signupgenius.com))
Volunteers will:
- Assist in unloading gifts from cars
- Transport gifts up elevators and stairs to Santa's workshop
- Count, sort, and organize gifts for distribution
- Help staff "shop" for their clients
- Assist the Head Elf (Jordan) in administration & organization
Please note:
- Volunteers will spend a lot of time on their feet and should wear comfortable shoes.
- Volunteers should be comfortable lifting 25 lbs.
- Volunteers should be over the age of 13, unless previously discussed with Jordan.
- Volunteers should wear layers. Santa's workshop can get pretty toasty!
- Volunteers will receive a Happy Holidays t-shirt

Description
Lighthouse Youth & Family Services helps young people in need heal and grow.
Lighthouse offers an integrated system of care for youth ages 0-24, including emergency shelter, foster care and adoption, mental and behavioral health services, residential treatment., community juvenile justice services, youth housing, and OhioRISE, a specialized managed care program for youth with complex behavioral health and multisystem needs. The Lighthouse team meets the individual needs of each young person and focuses on their strengths as they work to meet their goals. Lighthouse provides inclusive and affirming care for all young people, and every young person and family are treated with dignity and respect.
Leading the effort to end youth homelessness in Cincinnati, Lighthouse is the only local organization focused on serving young people experiencing homelessness and provides Cincinnati’s first and only local emergency shelter for ages 10-17.
Every night, approximately 400 young people sleep under a Lighthouse roof.
