About

You can help care for the hiking trails at Eagle Peak Preserve! This expansive preserve is the flagship of the San Diego River Park Foundation and includes breathtaking views of the Upper San Diego River Gorge. The region is a key part of the San Diego River's ecosystem and is consider one of the most biologically diverse areas in the entire Country.

This is your chance to enjoy a beautiful day outdoors while working with like-minded folks and improving local recreation opportunities. Volunteers will help to enhance hiking options at Eagle Peak Ranch through a fun and rewarding trail maintenance project. Tasks will include brush removal, trail leveling, and erosion control. More adventurous volunteers will hike up to 3 miles carrying gear, but there will also be locations that require less hiking.

Please wear long pants, close-toed shoes (tennis shoes or hiking boots) and layers. Bring AT LEAST 32 oz. of water to drink and a snack. Please be aware that this is a remote location with no cell service. Also be aware that you may be working near poison oak. All supplies will be provided. Community service hours may be verified.

The preserve is located off of Eagle Peak Road, near Julian, and about 1.5 hours outside of central San Diego. Complete directions and arrival instructions will be provided upon RSVP. Carpool available.
