ORGANIZATION: Full Life Care

Full Life Care is working toward a future where adults with chronic and terminal illnesses or disabilities can be compassionately supported in their communities rather than living in isolation or having to resort to institutional care. Services include adult day health, in-home care, memory care homes, mental health services, volunteer companionship and care consultation. Learn more at www.fulllifecare.org.

Solstice Behavioral Health hosts an art and wellness studio on Mondays and Thursdays. Volunteers enhance our services by assisting staff in creating an inviting atmosphere; engaging participants in discussions and group activities; and cultivating positive interactions with participants who attend Studio. Our participants/clients are adults of all ages with mental health diagnoses ranging from depression to anxiety to schizophrenia and bi polar disorder.

We are looking for some energetic and creative volunteers who can help us lead nutrition education lessons and cooking projects in our Wellness Studio held on Thursdays from 10am to 2pm.

We serve lunch during Wellness Studio. Volunteers who prepare food need to obtain a food handlers permit prior to start. 10:30am -1pm is the minimum time commitment, and we would prefer someone who will be able to come weekly, but twice a month is helpful too.
