The thought of a child not having a bed at any time of year is heartbreaking, but not having one for Christmas is even worse. This Christmas, A Bed for Every Child, an initiative of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, wants to change that for 250 children. The Coalition is launching its 4th Annual 250 Beds for 250 Kids this Holiday season. This campaign builds awareness of A Bed for Every Child initiative while raising the funds necessary to donate 250 beds to children by Christmas, as part of a larger goal to provide 3,000 beds over the next twelve months.

To help reach our goal, we are so grateful to announce that we will once again be wrapping gifts at the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall. The Wrapping booth will be open beginning Saturday, December 7th until the last present is wrapped on December 24th. CLICK HERE for the complete schedule and shift availability.

Last year with the support of our incredible volunteers and donors, we were able to reach our goal. With your help, we successfully can do it this year, too.

If you are friendly, energetic and not afraid of a paper cut or two, this is a great opportunity to give back to your community!

If you are interested in volunteering for this event but have questions please contact Yadira Carvajal at yadira@mahomeless.org. Otherwise, just sign up here: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/2958823/true#/invitation

We would love to see you this holiday season!

About A Bed for Every Child

Location:

73 Buffum Street, Lynn, MA 01902, US

Mission Statement

A Bed for Every Child is now in its 7th year and continues to have a simple mission that has a huge impact on a child’s life growing up in poverty: give that child a bed of their own.

Description

There are five things that a child needs to thrive: food, water, shelter, clothing, and sleep.

As a society, we have worked tirelessly to ensure children have access to the first four, but in regards to sleep, we have yet to reach the same level.

Although a bed is not the first thing we think of when discussing poverty, far too many children are growing up in a household that simply cannot afford a bed for their child(ren), therefore these children are not able to obtain the good night’s sleep they need to get the education they deserve.

To date, we have provided nearly 10,000 beds to children in need all across Massachusetts.
