Common Threads' 2nd Annual Family Takeover Day is a day for parents and children to engage in fun, free activities put on by local community organizations to promote health, nutrition, and exercise in Miami. This year we'll have fun nutrition-related games for kids to play, along with healthy cooking and food demos, music, yoga and more!

Below is some information about the event:
We are thrilled to be able to host our second annual Family Takeover Day at Johnson and Wales. This is a FREE event for our families and community members, including food demos, cooking classes, yoga, music, art and lots of giveaways!!! We are in need of volunteers to support activities throughout the day!
Admission: FREE ADMISSION!
When: Saturday, December 2nd, 11am - 3pm.
VOLUNTEER NEEDS: 1st shift - Setup- 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
2nd shift - Breakdown- 11:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
3rd shift - All Day - 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Description
Cooking for Life! Founded by Chef Art Smith and artist Jesus Salgueiro in 2003, Common Threads grew out of the belief that family and food have the power to nurture and strengthen us, to connect us to culture and community, and to teach and excite us about our world. By sharing the delight of cooking and delicious recipes, in conjunction with practical life-skills in health and nutrition, Common Threads can change lives.
