ORGANIZATION: LIFEBRIDGE PARTNERSHIP

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Volunteers will meet by the carolers in Union Station at 4:15 but the Festival of Lights itself takes place at Kiener Plaza. Volunteers may be asked to push a manual wheelchair if needed or verbally assist the kids with safe decision-making. However, volunteers will mostly be asked to just keep an eye on the kids and keep them with the group.

Grab some friends and come kick off the Holiday Season with some fantastic LifeBridge Kids!

I have added a brief description of the Festival of Lights below, however, for more information about LifeBridge Partnership or the Festival of Lights please feel free review at the following links:

You will witness a kick off to the Holiday season with the exciting lighting of the Salvation Army Tree of Lights and a festive fireworks finale.
The event kicks off at 3:30 pm within Glacier Park and North Pole Village (under the train shed) at Union Station featuring Mrs. Claus serving children hot chocolate and cookies, the USO assisting with letters to active Military, followed by a host of family entertainment that includes:

Metro Edge Figure Skating Club performing "Nutcracker on Ice"
Kingsbury Place Singers, St. Louis Christmas Carols Association
Muny Kids Touring Troupe
Highland High School Madrigal Singers
Salvation Army Brass Band
Stages - Triple Teen Treat
Carr Lane Drumline

Happy Holidays!

Mission Statement

Empowering people with disabilities to develop skills for independence and to actively participate in the community.

Description

The word "bridge" is defined as a structure or path crossing over a physical obstacle or barrier. Bridges also provide a connection from one place to another. Conceptually, a bridge creates connections that help cross over or overcome life’s obstacles. It’s in this sense that we are a structure, a connection, a "LifeBridge" for participants throughout their lives.

The word "partnership" is inclusive and welcoming with a promise that "We are in this together!" Partnership illustrates the idea of a larger group dynamic at work. It also promotes equality by emphasizing abilities and relationships that are connected on equal footing.
