Wheaton Indoor Tennis is proud to partner with ACEing Autism to serve up an amazing tennis curriculum! Directed by our teaching pro, volunteers will be paired with kids on the autism spectrum (ages 6-10 and 11-17). The program helps kids develop coordination, confidence, and social skills through on-court activities that emphasize taking turns, working in teams and following instruction.
Volunteers will receive training prior to first class. Tennis experience helpful but not necessary. Must enjoy working with kids and have high energy. Special education background a plus!
Success of this program depends upon consistent pairing of volunteers and participants each week. Volunteers should be able to commit to all 6 weeks in the program.
Volunteer registration and background check required.
