Transit Monitoring
Transit monitors watch for red flags to alert them to possible trafficking situations.

After conducting initial feasibility and baseline research, LJI is interested in starting a 3-6 month transit-monitoring pilot in Cambodia, based in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. The monitoring location is to be determined, but we are considering locations in and around Banteay Meanchey province, either on the border or at transit hubs near the border.

Mission Statement

Love Justice International is dedicated to empowering the Body of Christ in the developing world to fight against poverty and social injustice by employing effective strategies and biblical principles. We are committed to identifying the greatest injustices in the world and working towards bringing relief to those who live under its oppression. We are particularly called to orphans, street children, women’s empowerment and those threatened by, or victims of, the sex-trafficking industry. We want to find those who are already doing the work, who are called and faithful, and help them do it in greater ways and with more efficiency. We do it all in obedience to, and for the glory of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 58:6-12

Description

Love Justice International [1] (LJI) is a Christian anti-trafficking NGO that fights the world's greatest injustices. We use a counter-trafficking strategy called transit monitoring, where our trained staff monitors transit areas (borders, bus stations, and airports) to identify potential trafficking victims and assists them with repatriation and procuring aftercare. In interviewing the victims, we collect intelligence to assist local police with criminal investigations and arrests of the perpetrators. We also follow up with each legal case filed to ensure speedy and fair prosecutions.

Through this strategy, we are able to stop trafficking before victims reach the destination where they are exploited, and to collect intelligence to go after criminal networks. We partner with local churches in all our work. We have intercepted and assisted over 16,000 individuals who were being trafficked or at high-risk of being trafficked, and have helped convict over 60 traffickers. And we're just getting started! For more information, please see LJI’s website: www.lovejustice.ngo.
