TACKLING ALZHEIMER’S TOGETHER
Alzheimer’s Association(r) RivALZ is a volunteer-driven event that engages young professionals in friendly but fierce flag football games around the country. As part of the competition, teams are organized around age-old rivalries -East vs. West, Blondes vs. Brunettes, City vs. Suburbs - that inspire fundraising, awareness and action in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
RIVALZ VOLUNTEER PLANNING COMMITTEE
The planning committee is responsible for the overall event experience and reaching fundraising goals. Committee roles include: fundraising and sponsorship, in-kind donations, game day logistics, volunteer management, advertising and marketing, player recruitment and management, and coaching. Men and women are encouraged to join the Committee and you do not need to play in the league to be a part of the planning committee. Email kbperry@alz.org for information on the next meeting.
Looking to get involved? We need dedicated players, but we also need coaches and volunteers. Want to cheer from the crowd? Donate to one of our players and you can receive admission to the game. It’s time to pick a side! Together, we can tackle Alzheimer’s. Must be 21+.

Mission Statement
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health
Description
In 1979, Jerome H. Stone and representatives from several family support groups met with the National Institute on Aging to explore the value of a national, independent, nonprofit organization to complement federal efforts surrounding Alzheimer's disease. That meeting resulted in the April 10, 1980, formation of the Alzheimer's Association with Mr. Stone as founding president.
Today, the Association reaches millions of people affected by Alzheimer’s across the globe through our national office and chapters in communities nationwide. We are the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
