The Prescott Public Library will launch a brand new, grant funded project in February 2018 called "You Too!". This project will make assistive technology available (at the Library and in other key locations in the City of Prescott) for persons who have vision and/or hearing impairments available at the library and in other key locations in the City of Prescott. Library staff is in need of volunteers for this project (volunteers will receive full training on the use of iPads and other equipment that will be offered to residents.) We need seven (7) volunteers for our new You Too! Grant project:
- Two (2) trainers to work one-on-one with persons who have vision impairments on the use of iPads. The first training for these volunteers will be on December 5.
- Two (2) City Council meeting docents to staff a table outside Council Chambers and offer assistance to citizens with vision or hearing impairments. These meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month during the 1 p.m. (Study Session) and 3 p.m. (Voting Session). There could be special meetings as well.
- Three (3) program docents who could checkout devices (listening devices and/or iPads) during Library programs and offer assistance in their use. This would be for several of our large programs each month. Time commitment - approximately 4 - 8 hours per month.
