The Reno/Sparks community is filled with gracious citizens! Are you one of those generous hearts who would be up for some volunteer fun for the whole family this November? If so, please join the staff and volunteers of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows as we serve a Holiday meal to those in need. Please come anytime between 4:00 pm and 7:00pm to be a server in the cafeteria and gym of the main Ninth Street facility. Servers are aged 14 and up. This is a great team builder for groups! The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is to enhance the quality of life for children, ages 6-18, in the Truckee Meadows. We have a commitment to create healthy children, in body and mind, with a sense of competence, usefulness, responsibility, belonging, and influence, through diverse programs and community involvement.
Description
As a Volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club you are an important part of our organization. You will be acting as a mentor, helping our members, and serving as role model for youth in our community. Volunteers must attend an orientation before volunteering with us as well as have a background check completed. Volunteering opportunities include but are not limited to: tutoring and homework help, science and math classes, computers, arts and crafts, dance, music and choir, photography, drama, chess, legos, sewing, scrapbooking, basketball, soccer, coaching, and refereeing.
