Mission Statement

To unleash the power of girls to create a more vibrant, healthy and peaceful world.

Description

Young Women on the Move was founded in 2005 to provide holistic health programs for adolescent girls in the urban corea of Wyandotte County, Kansas. The weekly after-school programs focus on group life coaching and mentoring by volunteers. Girls learn to build affirming beliefs, attitudes, habits and expectations for their lives. Our primary goals are to increase girls' resiliency and self-suffciency and improve their physical, emotional and social well-being. We focus on interactive and project-based learning activities that help girls develop critical thinking and collaboration skills to reinforce healthy lifestyles, character and leadership skills.
