Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer Services needs your help!!

There are low-income elders and adults with disabilities in Benton and Franklin counties who desperately need help with transportation, housework, laundry, yard work, snow shoveling, moving, minor home repairs, building wheelchair ramps, and more. Participating in this service allows those in need the opportunity to continue living independently, safely, and with dignity in the comfort of their own homes.

How you help is up to you! Your skills and interests are matched to provide the best fit for you and those you help. This is a great opportunity for volunteering as a group or as an individual, fulfilling community service hours, corporate outreach, as a community project, for youth groups, civic groups, bonding, fellowship, etc.
As a volunteer you can participate in volunteer insurance coverage, mileage reimbursement, and volunteer recognition events.

Currently we have many clients who are terminally ill, injured, disabled, or just experiencing the struggle of living out their elder years and who are in need of simple services such as having their floors swept/vacuumed and other light housekeeping, a ride to doctor appointments or to get some groceries. Volunteering to provide such a service even just once per month is enough to give them hope!

Mission Statement

We envision communities where people are treated with dignity and respect, their basic needs are met, and they are empowered to enhance the quality of their own lives.

Description

Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington provides help and creates hope for thousands of people each year regardless of religious, social, or economic backgrounds. Though serving the outreach efforts of the Diocese of Yakima, Catholic Charities is a separate 501(c)3 charitable organization, funded in part by the State of Washington, federal contracts, the United Way across Central Washington, fees for service, grants, and charitable contributions. Although rooted in a Catholic tradition that shapes its core mission of service to all, at times as many as 85% of the agency's staff is non-Catholic. Similarly, the vast majority of those being served are not Catholic. With nearly 32 service locations and almost 48,000 people served annually, the agency remains a testimony to its ongoing mission of "Bringing Hope to Life".
