Camp Rainbow Gold brings community, love, and silliness to the tough and trying world of childhood cancer by hosting five annual camps, a teen support group, and a college scholarship program for cancer survivors.
Come experience what happens when people come together to create emotionally empowering experiences for Idaho children diagnosed with cancer and their families by helping at one of four summer camps. .
Camp Rainbow Gold hosts five camps a year in the Sun Valley area, four of which occur in the summer. The two camps the organization is best known for are the oncology camps, a teen and a youth camp, hosted in the third and fourth weeks of July.
But CRG also hosts a sibling camp for the family members of Idaho children diagnosed with cancer in the second week of July and a family camp at the end of June.
Volunteers make up every level of organization at these camps, serving as camp counselors, activity leaders, and camp directors.
Applications for volunteering at one of these camps open in February -- after which applicants will be invited for an interview, subjected to a background check, and if cleared, invited to a mandatory training session May 19 and 20.
Anyone seeking more information about specific camp positions, Camp Rainbow Gold programs, or other volunteer opportunities with the organization can contact the CRG volunteer coordinator, Benton Smith, at Benton@camprainbowgold.org or 208-350-6435 or can visit the Camp Rainbow Gold Website.
