Fantasy of Lights is a 1.5 mile drive-through holiday lights and display entertainment extravaganza for the whole family. On this special night, Saturday & Sunday, December 2nd & 3rd, visitors will be able to walk through the park and view the holiday light displays on foot, enjoying holiday music, food trucks and more.

It is a really fun night and we rely on many volunteers to make this evening a success! Volunteers will be spread out in various zones throughout the event and are needed to help guide visitors at the entrance and exit, keep visitors safe and on the paths, provide information, take photos, and more.

Volunteer hours can be applied to school or community organization service hours. Each volunteer will receive a complimentary pass to the event to be used Sunday-Thursday. Please come prepared for cold and/or wet weather rain or clear skies, the show goes on nightly! Please bring your own water bottle to refill.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
Other than the volunteers assigned to the Netflix parking lot, all registered volunteers must report to the Gateway Pavilion at Vasona Park to sign in and for orientation

Here are the opportunties available:

Welcome & Exit Greeter must be 16+
The primary goal of the welcome greeter is to get visitors through the entrance/pay stations in a safe, controlled and helpful manner. Exit greeters primary goal is to get visitors through the exit in a safe, controlled and helpful manner. Volunteers should be comfortable dealing with crowds as this can be a very busy area. They should be comfortable giving direction to the public, adapting to changes that Rangers may make, and providing good customer service. They should be able to stand on their feet for several hours.

Park Assistantmust be 16+
Photographer Assist public in offering to take photos for them in safe locations on the roadway.
Ask me Questions Help direct visitors where to go in the park and assist with any event questions. You will be provided an information sheet.
As families are entering the park, make sure families and children do not run, push or shove to enter the park or visit the food court. Ask people to walk, not run, in the park.
Gently remind guests that they must remain on the vehicle roadway. They may not walk in the grass or dirt areas, venture onto paved paths or trails, or go near barricades or closed areas.
Assist with line control, picking up litter
Direct people to restrooms or areas of interest as needed.
Assist with a sweep/close out of the park once the event ends. Volunteers are asked not to leave their post until Ranger staff dismisses their area and closes their zone.

Parking Lot Traffic Assistance must be 18+:
Assist the Park Rangers and Park Service Attendants as directed to ensure guests safely park their vehicle and help guests safely board and disembark from buses.
Direct visitors to the portable restroom and provide information about the event if asked.
Monitor parking lot for congestion and litter.

Stroller Elves must be 16+
Assist with shuttle bus cargo loading (i.e. strollers). Assist with line control. *Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
