Do you love cooking, helping in the kitchen and seeing the joy in people who sit down for a good meal?
Join our cook team for the No Hitch Luncheon, a twice monthly meal open to the community served at 1085 E. Genesee Street. The No Hitch Luncheon was begun in 1991 by a volunteer who wanted to create a space for HIV+ individuals to gather, eat, and share information. In the years since, the luncheon has expanded to welcome people from all walks, we serve everyone who needs a plate of warm food, no questions asked.
The cook team member would assist in meal planning and preparation the second and fourth Thursday of every month. Cooking begins at 9 am, service and clean up lasts until 1:30 pm. We are looking for someone who is committed to serving the Syracuse community, who is comfortable in a kitchen, and who works well with others on the teams.
Corporate or Community Groups are welcome to adopt a day or days; plan a meal, prepare, serve the meal, greet the guests and clean up the space.
