We are inviting ten young ladies and gentlemen who are current high school students to pledge Nu Sigma Theta's community service club. Here is a very short list of projects that we have coming up...
- We are collecting letters and greeting cards to send to two specific children who have recently been victims of bullying (one in NJ and one in TX). Their parents have reflected that receiving letters from people all over the world has greatly increased their confidence.
- We are collecting greeting cards for a young boy in NJ who has a very rare disorder. Every year that he lives is a miracle. His mom says that he loves greeting cards, so we make sure that he is fully stocked for all of the holidays and for his birthday.
- We will be making/signing holiday greeting cards to be distributed to bullied/disabled children, youth in group homes and for seniors in nursing homes.
- We will be planning free sports and arts workshops for kids around the city starting in the New Year, so if you have sports/arts expertise, that would be helpful.
- Writing to students in other countries helping them understand and write in English.
Girls who have experience (or interest) in cheer, dance, or step will have additional opportunities to serve. But again, this is not mandatory.
To apply, just email us your full name, borough you live in, school you attend and birthday and you can get started immediately!!! Our deadline is fast approaching!
