ORGANIZATION: South Park Senior Citizens

You will help prepare and serve hot, delicious, healthy food to our low-income seniors at the South Park Senior Center once per week. You will work with our Chefs, Tam Nguyen or Theary Ngeth. You can choose one of four days - Monday or Wednesday or Friday afternoon when dinner is ready for "to go" delivery during the Covid-19 response at 4:00 - 4:30 pm. Or, choose Tuesday mornings for lunch is ready for "to go" delivery at 10:00 - 10:30 am. If you choose Monday or Friday, you will learn how to prepare Vietnamese and Cambodian food.

Essential Volunteer Duties:

  • Help cook, serve and clean up for a hot meal once a week
  • Get to know our fabulous seniors
Volunteer Qualifications:
  • Willingness to help feed people
  • Washington State Food Handler’s permit (or we will pay for yours!)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staffs, Seniors, at-risk clients, and representatives of other programs
Volunteer Requirements:
  • Simple sense of computer skills like how you browse Volunteer Match or this page and use email
  • Able to lift 25 pounds (*exceptions may apply)
  • Maintain a current Food Handlers Permit while volunteering with us
