About Us
Establish 2017, a registered non-profit organization. Dignity, Respect, and Compassion are the three core beliefs of Sisters Empowering Girls Group Home. Our program is designed to help empower and provide housing to youth experiencing abuse, neglect and other unfortunate trails.
Mission
Our organization mission is to properly address the economic need for Homeless Youth, Runaway, and Transitional Housing, with counseling services for youth girls who have left home with no suitable place to live
Description
Sisters Empowering Girls Group Home, Inc is committed to supporting the programs, projects, services and professional development in support of Girls Group Home.The purpose of our 501(c)3 organization is to help families who are struggling with their children’s mental health, runaway, and substance abuse challenges.
- Willing to serve up to two three-year terms as an elected member (or serve some portion thereof if appointed to fill the remainder of a vacant, unexpired term)
- Committed to attending 4 board meetings per year with an excused absence
- Willing to participate actively in one or more committees and carry out appropriate assignments outside monthly board meetings
- Willing to serve as an officer or in other leadership roles
- Willing to provide reports on Sisters Empowering Girls Group Home activities and Foundation Board meetings
- Agrees to record volunteer hours each month and submit to the Volunteer Services Coordinator
- Attends as many S.E.G.G.H. sponsored library activities as possible(Girls Talk)
- Acts as an ambassador for S.E. G.G.H in a formal and informal capacity

Mission Statement
To provide a safe and compassionate family-orientated home for teenage foster girls. Our vision is to unite and empower young girls who struggle with daily life trials and tribulations due to the absence of their biological parents.
Description
Sisters Empowering Girls Group home will be a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in the Shelby County area. Our purpose simply brings a change of activity in the life of foster care, and juvenile court girls age 13-18. One of our goals is for each child brought into our home to have ongoing educational support and therapy services for those in need. Maintain a strong network of support to the schools, Juvenile court, and DCS, and other foster care agencies. The home will provide 24-hour respite, therapy, supervision, and support in a homelike setting. Our facility will be secure and have the structure check-in and out programs for those who have school are granted leave. Providing security and oversight without making the child feel as if she is in jail.
Our home will be capable of responding to the emotional and behavioral needs of neglected and abused girls. Our goal is to minimize traumatic effects on a child as a result of being removed from the home or previous placement.
Our services will reduce the amount of disruption in the child's life. Provide treatment for the emotional problems of the child. Recognize and treat the entire child.
