Angeline's Center for Homeless Women offers homeless women a safe, warm, and welcoming space with weekly activities. Many of the women have artistic talents and interests. We need volunteers with art skills to lead a weekly group. Painting and sketching have been most requested, however we are open to discussing the use of other mediums. As the group leader/instructor, you will set up and distribute art supplies, build rapport and engage in conversation, and provide basic art instruction.
- This is a weekly project to be scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10am to 4pm, depending on volunteer availability and space availability.
- A minimum of six months commitment is required.
- Experience creating art is required. A volunteer with a willing heart and an interest in connecting with the women is most needed.
- After receiving training, the Group Leader will be responsible for set up and clean up of art supplies, as well as planning and executing art projects with the group.
- Group Leaders must be comfortable interacting with homeless women and be aware of common behaviors in a shelter environment.
- Volunteers must be 18 or older.
- Only women are accepted for this position.
