Do you like baking cookies? Cheering runners along a race route? Safely directing race participants at turns ... or cars into parking spots? TriCity Family Services' 9th Annual Snowflake Shuffle is quickly approaching and we are calling on many volunteers to assist that day!
Scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 2 at its ALL-NEW location, Royal Fox Country Club (St. Charles), the winter-themed race is a tradition in the community, raising critical dollars in support of the programs and services provided by TriCity Family Services. Last year, the event set records with more than 700 participants!
Various opportunities, starting at 7am and concluding at 11:30am, are available for individuals, groups, families, organizations, schools, athletic teams, and more to join in the fun. Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Baking 2 dozen Christmas cookies for the post-race program (UNLIMITED)*Drop-off on 11/30
- Assisting with registration check-in (NEED 6) *Arrive by 7am
- Setting up recovery treats and hot chocolate bar (NEED 4) *Arrive by 7:30am
- Handing out bottled water to participants (12) *Arrive by 8:30am
- Cheering racers along the course/Race marshals (NEED 40) *Arrive by 8am
- Directing cars to parking spaces (NEED 4) *Arrive by 7:30am
- Helping with the awards ceremony (NEED 2) *Arrive by 10am

TriCity Family Services is a private, not-for-profit, community mental health center serving Central and Southern Kane County and its surrounding areas. Since 1967, our agency has been a trusted partner and leading provider of family-based counseling and emotional wellness programs for all ages and all income levels. Our services are designed to address a wide-range of mental health disorders that destabilize families and prevent individuals from leading productive, satisfying lives.
Integral to our mission is a commitment to making programs and services affordable to area residents in need, particularly individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, or cannot otherwise afford mental health services. By operating under a sliding fee scale, and offering scholarships for our group programs, we ensure that no one is denied services based on an inability to pay.
