Living Classroom's Game Changers Initiative is a program focused on health and wellness. The idea is to provide programming to students when Baltimore City School are closed due to holidays and/or professional development days.

This program will take place on several dates over the course of the school year. Sessions typically run from 8:00am-4:00pm, unless noted differently on our signup page. Volunteers are welcome to stay all day, but may also sign up for just a morning (8:00am-12:00pm) or afternoon shift (12:00-4:00pm)!

Volunteers can expect to:

  • Act as camp counselor for the day
  • Supervise and support different activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts, and more!
  • Set up, serve, and eat lunch with our students
  • HAVE FUN!

Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of the community at large, providing hands-on education and job skills training for students from diverse backgrounds, with a special emphasis on serving at-risk youth.

Description


The Foundation uses maritime settings, community revitalization projects and other challenging learning environments, and a low staff to student ratio. Our "learning by doing" education programs emphasize the applied learning of math, science, literacy, history, economics, and ecology. Key objectives of all Living Classrooms programs are career development, community service, elevating self-esteem, and fostering multicultural exchange.
