Working Wardrobe Assistants help low-income women in selecting interview and work appropriate clothing. During downtime, you will sort through gently used donated clothing and determine what is suitable for the program. You may also change displays and keep the area clean and presentable for clients in need of clothing. Currently we are looking for a volunteer who is available on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Sorting, sizing and displaying clothing donations
- Re-stock merchandise, hang clothes, clean up workspace
- Receive donations and give out receipts
Qualifications needed:
- Retail experience helpful, not required
- Comfort working with used clothing that is assumed to be clean, but not necessarily
- Must be organized and willing to perform a variety of tasks
- Culturally competent and open to working directly with our diverse populations
- Must be organized and willing to perform a variety of tasks throughout your shift
- Physical demands of the position:
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and maneuver tight spaces
- Bending and reaching
