Retired or part-tIme teacher? Community educator? Experienced storytime reader? One Heart Wild would like to talk with you!
We are looking for 2-3 people to join our Animals and Empathy (A&E) team this spring. A&E utilizes stories, activities and animal ambassador visits in the classroom to help students develop empathy and social and emotional skills that improve our relationships with people and animals.
A&E Volunteer Readers visit each classroom four times to read pre-selected stories, facilitate conversations with the children, and lead extension activities. A Board Member accompanies the A&E Reader at each classroom session to lend a hand and lead the animal ambassador portion of the visit. Training is provided.
If you are interested in becoming an A&E Volunteer Reader or would like more information, please contact us today and get signed up for early December training.
