We are currently seeking volunteers for our Light the Night Walk on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
Volunteers are responsible for a variety of jobs including set-up, greeting our participants, registration/check-in, help in the kids section or even in our top fundraiser and sponsor area. Volunteers will be able to interact with participants, get to know why they are involved with LLS, and help make sure they are having a fabulous time!
Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:
Approximately 12:00pm - 4:00pm Set up event
Approximately 4:00pm - 9:00pm Assist at the event
Approximately 9:00pm - 11:00pm Assist with clean up
*Times may be subject to a slight change and we will notify you 2-3 weeks prior to the event.

About the Walk: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night Walk is an inspirational community event that raises awareness and funding for groundbreaking research and treatment options to eliminate cancer. This special evening brings light to the darkness of cancer through hope, research and support. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets.
In 2018, LLS’s Light The Night took place in more than 150 communities and raised more than $70 million. The Walk will have special opportunities to recognize Patients & Survivors and to reflect on loved ones lost.

In 2018, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Long Island Chapter serves residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves the Nassau and Suffolk counties.
